Photographer Merges Photoshop & Neuroscience To Create ‘Ideal’ Portraits

Photographer Scott Chasserot’s experiment ‘Original Ideal’ attempts to discover people’s ideal selves by combining Photoshop and neuroscience.

Chasserot wanted to find out how people perceive their actual selves, and how that influences our assumptions about a person.

He first captured people’s portraits before creating over 50 different edited versions. The subjects were then presented with the manipulated versions of their faces while hooked up to an Emotiv EEG brain scanner that monitored their brain activity.
